We would like to say a huge Thank You to all who attended the Fido Fun Day at Decoy Country Park on Sunday 29th March. It was a lovely day weatherwise and lots of people bought their dogs along for the “fun dog show”. We had a lot of interest at our stall with lots of leaflets given out and lots of questions answered, (hopefully)!!

Thanks again to everyone who supported us on the day.

If you would like any further information please contact us on 01803 556130.

feb-20-2009-0042On Friday the 19th of February we  made a presentation to Bette Jones who has been volunteering  at our Totnes shop for 10 years! She’s a sprightly lady of  89 years young, and has only missed one day in all that time due to the recent snow and a fall at home.

We presented her with a bouquet and a certificate of merit, and an RSPCA lapel pin, which she was thrilled to bits with.

We are always looking for reliable people to volunteer in our shops so if  you care about animals and have ever thought about it, do it now!  You could gain a whole new group of friends and maybe have your own presentation one day!!

Contact John Williams on 01803 556130 for details.

WE NEED YOU!

Posted on 19 January 2009 in Branch News by Lyn

We are looking for volunteers to help out with our cats. We need people who are willing to clean out the pods, help with the general needs of the cats, and possibly spend some time socialising them.

If you think you can help please contact our Clinic on 01626 366566. (Answerphone when Clinic unattended).

Please do not ring the rehoming line. They will not be able to help you, and you may prevent the urgent rehoming of a cat.

Thank you.

This time we’re saying a Big Thank You to Fernham Residential Home who raised over £200 for us. Our ACOs went along on two separate occasions to give a talk and some advice and our ACO Chris Inman was presented with the cheque. Anyone who got the local paper on Wednesday the 26th of November will have seen the feature. Many thanks to all who contributed.

If you would like one of our ACOs to come and give a talk to your organisation about our work, please contact us for more information.

Fundraisers

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the staff and puplis of Haytor Primary School in Newton Abbot, who presented our ACO Mike Watts with an amazing cheque for £220.64!

They raised the money for us by doing things like fence painting, a talent show, a summer fete and a Christmas fayre. It must have been a lot of hard work, and we are extremely grateful to them for making us their chosen charity.

If anyone else is thinking of doing something similar, just contact our office on 01803 556130 and we can give you more information.

One of our ACOs would be only too glad to come and give a talk to tell you all about our work and what we do.

We have started to catalogue our homeless felines for prospective new owners to see via the Cats for Adoption page.  More cats will appear on the page soon and will continue to be added as they are rescued by the Branch.

If you are considering rehoming a cat then keep your eye on the Cats for Adoption page as one day you may spot your purrfect companion.  You can also subscribe to our RSS feed to be informed of updates.

Dawlish Scarecrow Week

The Dawlish Scarecrow Week is the next event that we’ll be attending. It’s on the lawn on Dawlish seafront on Sunday the 31st of August, and kicks off at 10am. Come and win a prize at our stall, or just chat to our team and tell us all about your pets. Should be a great day out if the weather holds up, but even if it’s raining you can still have fun and support us. Look forward to seeing you there.

Totnes Show

Posted on 4 August 2008 in Branch Events by Lyn

Well, the Totnes Show weather did its usual thing and poured down most of the day! Luckily for us there were lots of people who came and supported us by buying a ticket from our stall. We managed to raise £125 for the Branch. Although the weather was bad, the spirit of the occasion was very high, and people were pleased to be able to support us. A picture of our stall will follow in due course.

Thanks to all who helped on the stall.

New website goes live

Posted on 2 April 2008 in Branch News by Jamie

Welcome to the new branch website!

We’ve been working hard to create a system which allows the posting of news articles by several people within the Branch in a simple and quick way. We hope this will provide our supporters and members with up-to-date information on what we’re up to, important announcements, news stories, upcoming events, animal adoptions and much more.

If you use an RSS reader (or Live Bookmarks) then you can subscribe to the site to be alerted of updates as soon as they happen. The new site even has a facility to comment on news articles and events so you can share your thoughts and opinions.

We hope that the new system will be a much better communication tool for everyone, so don’t forget to check back often!
