If you are having difficulty in dealing with the cost of veterinary bills for essential treatment or an emergency procedure, you may be entitled to apply for financial assistance from the Branch.

To qualify, you must:

  1. Be in receipt of Income Support, Pension Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance (income-based)
  2. Be facing vet bills of  £100 or over

Unfortunately we cannot help if:

  1. Treatment is routine or on-going
  2. The bill has already been paid
  3. The animal has died

To apply, you must provide all of the following:

  1. A letter detailing your situation and an explanation of why you cannot afford the cost of the procedure
  2. Up-to-date proof that you receive a qualifying benefit (no older than one calendar month)
  3. Proof of the total/estimated cost of treatment from your vet
  4. A stamped addressed envelope
